Photoshop Express sfrutta le potenzialità di Flash Player 9. Se inizialmente Adobe aveva pensato ad un semplice editor di immagini, nel tempo il lavoro si è concentrato anche sullo sviluppo delle funzioni di condivisione delle immagini e social networking, non a caso ci si ritrova con un collegamento diretto a Facebook.
L’obiettivo è di ampliare l’offerta con nuove funzioni opzionali a pagamento. Il management statunitense ha già anticipato la prossima disponibilità di un servizio di stampa remoto, il supporto di formati multimediali, la possibilità di gestire file diversi rispetto allo standard JPEG e anche l’opzione per incrementare lo spazio di archiviazione. Inoltre, è già programmato il lancio del client offline basato su AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) che consentirà la gestione di ogni operazione di editing senza il bisogno di connettersi al web.
“Photoshop Express nasce per far fronte alle esigenze di chiunque utilizza le più comuni cam digitali”, ha aggiunto Mack. Si tratta evidentemente di una soluzione entry-level: il trasferimento delle immagini avviene tramite trascinamento, l’editing in pochi click e la condivisione come su una comune piattaforma web 2.0.
